Celeste Myers reached out to me to consult with a big organizing job. Her husband, Vic Myers, and Celeste own a thrift store in Marble. They also have a ministry called The Blessing Truck where they provide food for many people in 3 states. They needed to organize their buildings in order to make it easier for them to sell and give away items, and to have a storefront where items can be sold.
I listened to Celeste’s description of the situation, and without needing to see the situation, I wrote a project plan which helped her immensely in moving forward.
This was her response to my project plan::
“I was feeling overwhelmed about the situation of trying to get all of the work done. When I received your project plan after our initial consultation, I felt hopeful! No longer was this a dreaded, daunting job. With your concrete ideas and detailed description of how to proceed, it became a challenging but doable project. This gave me energy to get started on this project and do it with enthusiasm.”
Once Celeste started the job, I asked her how it was going.
“It’s going better than anticipated! Vic has been very encouraged after seeing all that has been accomplished on the project so far…
Just the actual “do-ability” of some of your ideas have had a great impact-considering the effort put forth. And when it all comes to fruition-it will create even greater confidence in the project.
I’ve stayed very encouraged and that has helped keep a peaceful environment overall.
Can’t thank you enough!
…….
When I did hands on organizing, this was Celeste’s response:
“Thank you again for ALL you accomplished yesterday! You were a true pro. You organized the books efficiently, quickly and with very little input from me. When I asked for help, you were there supporting me just as I needed. You gave suggestions about the overall organizing job. Many of them were excellent ideas. Yet I did not feel pressure to implement. You gave me space to think about how to proceed.”
I feel so grateful that I had this opportunity to help Celeste and Vic, for they do so much for the community around here, and this was my indirect way of helping them be of service.
